Shay's Path

My name is Shay and I am a recent Babson College graduate. I majored in Business Analytics, and have been passionate about hockey for as long as I can remember. 

I wanted to create a site to share my love for hockey and present the information and statistics that I have been solely gathering for years.  

I began working with the Men's Ice Hockey Team at Babson freshmen year, creating the role of Hockey Analytics Advisor where I recorded all statistcs live for the team, and created a website for the coaching staff, players, and fans to view all of the team's stats. www.beavers-hockey9.webnode.com

I also have experience interning for Steve Valiquette's Clear Sight Analytics where I implemented a number of statistical projects. Finally, I created the Babson Sports Business Society for sports fans at Babson College who want to learn and study Sports Management and Sports Statistics.

My goal for Puck Stats is to engage with all NHL Fans, connecting them with their favorite teams, their favorite players, league trends, and statistics. 

Tyler's Path

Hi, my name is Tyler Koss and I am a Finance and International Business student at the University of Miami's Herbert Business School. 

My contribution to Puck Stats originates from a background in hockey, complemented by hands-on experiences ranging from operational roles at Seaview Association to a brand development internship at SEL Beauty. 

My focus has been on delivering real-time data and unique player rankings, exclusive to PuckStats.org. My goal with Puck Stats is to provide a full-spectrum NHL experience, bridging fans with in-depth analytics and promoting a closer connection with the sport. 

This website contains unique ways to view the NHL and the players themselves. My favorite part of the website is the topic "Connections" because you are able to view all of the current teammates each player has played with throughout their career, and see player connections when two teams are playing each other.

How can you Gain Value from Puck Stats?

  • Fantasy players can view player performance to choose which players to add to their lineup, view unique statistics to place specific bets (ex: over/under number of shots taken in a game)
  • Casual Fans learn more about the league, the players, and learn beyond just which teams have the most points in the league 
  • Avid Fans get a deep dive into their favorite teams history (ex: the average years a player spends on their team), player connections, average age of their team, and more
